Woodland Migrants Day Trip
Beautiful floral landscapes and aurmomas of wild garlic surrounds us as we venture through the woodlands of Cwm Clydach in search of Pied Flycatchers, Common Redstarts and Wood Warblers.
Day begins at 9am at Cwm Clydach car park, day will continue to 5pm – or when the enjoyment ends!
Suitable for children, due to the steep inclines and non-sturdy paths, it will be unsuitable for regular wheelchair users, crutches may be adaptable – contact us first! Nordic walking sticks recommended if unsure of inclines.
We begin our day by meeting at the Cwm Clydach RSPB car park, introducing ourselves aswell as our guests to one another. We will give our guests a brief overview of the site and what we are likely to expect before making our way into the reserve. We will also have a refreshment stop, tea and coffee will be provided along with water to re-fill our bottles, we will also have a light lunch.
Through out walk through the woodland, we will be looking for Pied Flycatcher, Spotted Flycatcher, Wood Warblers, Common Redstarts among other birds and will be listening out for others such as Green Woodpeckers and Common Cuckoo. During our walk, we will head towards the river itself in search of dragonflies and birds such as Grey Wagtails and Dipper, We will continue our walk to suitable habitats for Flycatchers and Warblers, before heading on our return route. Whilst here, we may also see other delights such as plants including orchids, butterflies and dragonflies.
